AWARE CRC SPECIALITY

  • Who should take this course?

Everyone likes to scuba dive or snorkel in warm, clear water on a vibrant coral reef, yet many people know little about what they’re seeing or the importance of reef ecosystems. The AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course helps you appreciate the complexity of these habitats and teaches you how you can help conserve these vital systems.

    What will you learn?

    Through classroom discussions, you learn:

    • How coral reefs function and the complex nature of life on a reef.
    • Why coral reefs are so important.
    • Why many coral reefs are in serious trouble.
    • What you can do to prevent further decline.
    • How Project AWARE unites divers and water enthusiasts to make a difference.

WHAT SCUBA GEAR WILL YOU USE

As this is a dry spec, scuba gear will not be used. However we will still use coral ID slates and coral identification books relevent to the area. If you are a certified diver already you may want to incorporate this course into some recreational dives

At Da Nang Scuba we have a fully stocked retail shop offering a wide range of scuba equipment from the basics of masks and snorkels to buoyancy control devices, including blank slates and coral  ID slates and coral identification books. Taking a course with Da Nang scuba guarantees a 10% discount on any equipment purchased from Scuba Direct or Liquid Watersports.
